Norths have just had their Senior Presentation Night for 2014. It was a very successful night and a great occasion. Thank you to our major sponsors for the year. Division 1 Women Premiers 2014
Following the inspirational win by the Div 2 Women, the Div 1 Women ran out confidently against Falcons in the A grade final. Norths were under pressure straight away with heavy attacks being laid on them by the Falcons women. Norths attacked back and via the team Captain Nan Latta managed to score a field goal going to half time 1 nil up.
After what was surely an epic half time speech, the girls charged back on to the field ready to attack the second half. It was a very even looking battle with attacks at both ends of the field. Eventually however, Falcons conceded a penalty stroke that Nan put into the left hand side of the net.

Division 2 Women Premiers – 3 nil over United
The Sunday of the 2014 Finals Series dawned fair and bright. The Norths B grade women were prepped and ready to go for their 10am final against United. Throughout the season the two teams had tussled against one another with 2 wins and 2 losses. Norths had been beaten in the semi-final by United and had then had to force their way through past a determined Wombats team last week.
The first half was very even and it wasn’t until the last ten minutes of the half that Michelle Cary drove a strong attack through. Momentum swung Norths’ way and Fiona Beath scored putting the team 1 nil up going in to half time.
The second half was tight in the first 15 minutes until a cross from Ange MacDonald found Kath Donnelly lurking at left wing. Kath put the ball in the net and Norths were 2 nil up. As the game continued, Fiona Beath was in the action again, pushing through to earn a penalty stroke that she then converted. Norths defense held out several hard attacks from United until time ran out with Norths eventual 3 nil winners.
Best on Ground was Madeline Poulton. Congratulations also to Jo Peachey – Division 2 Women’s HAW Best and Fairest!
Division 3 Women “Blue” Runners Up 2014
Saturday afternoon was bright and sunny as the Div 3 Women’s Blue team took the field against Magpies. In what turned out to be a grueling endurance race between the teams, Div 3 Blue fought hard for a full 70 minutes under the heat of the sun to finish nil all at full time. A 2 minute break and the women were back on the field, ready for the first of 10 minute golden goal halves. After 2 halves of golden goal, neither side had managed to score, due in part to Norths Goal Keeper Nicole Finch. At the end though, the game went to penalty strokes and sadly the Blue girls lost.

U16 Girls 2014 Premiers: 2-1 over Wodonga!
The Norths U16 Girls showed their class tonight, winning 2-1 over Wodonga in an epic battle at the HAW fields. Wodonga scored first from a short corner and were looking very strong. The Norths girls rallied though, and scored shortly thereafter via Brooke Purtell. Jamie Plas followed up with a tomahawk shot that scored and the girls went to half time 2-1 up.
The second half was full of attack from the girls, with several short corners and many running attacks. The team survived a last minute scare from the Wodonga girls and then it was all over. Well done girls – 3 years in a row!

- U12 Boys were defeated in a valiant effort against United 3-0
- U12 Girls (Phantoms) were defeated after a mighty struggle against Falcons 2-0
- Div 3 Women lost to Magpies in a thriller 1-0
- Div 2 Women won against Wombats in a thriller 2-1
- Div 1 Women won against Magpies 3-2 in extra time
