Norths Newsletter, Season 2020

January edition.

This Newsletter is designed to give you the information you need ahead of another great year of hockey for Norths Hockey Club Inc:

Dates:

1- Registration Day, Sunday 16th February 2020 at Northside Hotel in the Beer Garden 10am- 12 noon.

2- Norths Annual General Meeting, Sunday 16th February 2020, 12 noon in the Northside Function Room.

3- Registration Day, Sunday 23rd February 2020, at the Albury Hockey Centre, 9am to 12 noon.

4- First Senior training night, Tuesday 25th February 2020, Grd 2 at 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

5- First Junior training night, Tuesday 3rd March 2020, 5.30pm to 6.25pm, Grd 2.

6- Coaches & Managers meeting in HAW Club rooms on Tuesday 24th March 2020 at 7.30pm.

7- Round 1 for Seniors, Juniors and Masters,

Friday 27th, 28th, 29th & Monday 30th March 2020.

8- Club Weekend (TBC) Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd May 2020.

9 – Junior Presentation Day, Northside Beer Garden, 2pm to 5pm on Saturday 22nd August 2020.

10 – Grand Final Weekend, Friday 11th to Monday14th September 2020.

11 – Senior Presentation Night, St Ives, Friday 18th September 2020 at 6pm.

Team Nominations for 2020.

Norths have entered 1 Team in each Men & Women Senior Divisions and 1 Womens Masters team.

We have also entered the following Junior Teams. 2 mixed U10 Teams, 1 team in each of the Boys & Girls U12, U14 & U16 Teams.

We will be doing our best to ensure each of these teams have enough players. Any help anyone is able to give us with finding/recruiting Junior players, will be much appreciated.

Hockey Victoria Registrations.

2020 will see a change, OneSport/Sports TG is no longer the portal for HV Registrations.

RevolutioniseSport is the new one. We will keep you all informed and updated as soon as we know what, where, how etc.

2020 Coach Nominations.

Nominations for Coaches for all Norths teams close on Friday 31st January 2020.

All coaches must be registered with Hockey Victoria (even if non-playing)

It is compulsory to have a current Working with Children check in NSW and/or Victoria.

It is compulsory to have completed the Community Coaching and be working towards gaining your Level 1 Coaching by the end of the year. This is a HAW requirement.

Coaches must be able to commit to attending at least 80% of all training sessions and matches and to ensure an assistant can cover you if you are not available.

Coaches are expected to communicate and work with all other coaches, teams and the committee.

Joint coaches work well, especially with our Junior teams.

Fees for 2020.

The Committee has decided we are able to keep our Registration Fees the same as the last 4 years. This is despite increasing costs from HAW. Our successful fundraising efforts this past season have been a major factor in being able to keep costs to our members down as much as we can.

We have several options with regards to payment of Fees.

Online transfers, Eftpos, cheque or cash.

Senior Fees – $150

Student Fees – $120

Senior/Junior – $120

Junior Fees – $55

Masters – $80

Masters/Senior – $180

Goalie (own gear) – $50

Under 10 – $20

Non-Playing member – $10

Eftpos will be available both Registration days and most training nights.

Synthetic/Match Fees for 2020.

Senior games – $14

Junior games – $8

Masters games – $10

Senior/Junior – $18 ($8 Junior game & $10 Senior game)

Grass games – $2

Ground Fees can be paid in advance for the season with registration fees.

They can be paid each week via online bank transfer.

They can be paid with cash each week to your manager prior to the start of the game.

Or they can be paid with eftpos which will be available MOST weekends.

Working with Children Check.

All committee members, coaches and mangers over 18 years of age, must have a current Working with Children check.

Volunteers donor have to pay to do this but you do need to be registered.

Fundraising for 2020.

Our first Fundraiser will be a Raffle book of 10 tickets for each player/family when they register. This will be drawn at our last A Grade match on our Club weekend.

We have our Club Weekend (date to be confirmed)

We hopefully have a Bunnings BBQ day, we have submitted our application for one this season.
