Div 3 ladies gave it their all today and pushed right to the very end.
Runners-up 1 nil to Magpies
You have the premiership in the bag next year ๐

Tough hot day for our U12 girls, unfortunately going down to United.
Girls should be really proud of their efforts today and for the season.
Great game today for our U14 Scot/Norths girls they played their hearts out and put up a strong fight against last yrs premier’s Magpies.
Unfortunately it wasn’t our day losing 2-1.
Thank you to everyone who came down early to watch and cheer our girls on.
Coach is extremely proud of these girls and would like to acknowledge how much they have improved throughout the season.
Cheers โ with Matt Smart and 6 others.

This year has been an excellent year for Norths – and the results from Hockey Albury Wodonga’s Best and Fairest certainly prove it. Here they are:
Division 3 Women – Winner Tahlia Hicks!
Division 3 Men – 3rd Scott Sippel!
Division 2 Women – Equal Winner – Madeline Poulton!
Division 2 Men – Top 10 Scott Sippel and Amila Maddegoda
Division 1 Women – Winner Kate Reynolds!
Division 1 Men – 4th Larry Simpson, with Ian Beath and Oscar Smart in the top 10.
Well done everyone!

See below for the times and let’s get around all the teams as they begin their quest for the ultimate glory!

Hi all clubs and Spitfires teams,
As discussed at our P&S meeting last week, I am seeking at least one representative from each club in order to run our Hockey 8โs tournament for 2019.
A meeting will be held in the clubhouse from 6pm on Monday 26 August. If you are the person for your club and play in the masters competition on Monday night, please pop in for the first 15 minutes.
A lot of work by a team of people goes into the successful running of Hockey 8โs tournament and it can only take place if there are enough people willing to assist.
Look forward to meeting you all on Monday night.
Kind Regards
Emma MacVean
From HAW:
Hi all clubs,
Please pass this on to your members.
Post our conversation at the P&S the other night about quarters and when the ball is in play, I have spoken to Stirling Sharpe, the Umpire Director in ACT and he has confirmed the following:
ยท Between the quarters (2 minutes break) players are not to leave the field of play BUT they can be on the red part of the turf as this is part of the field during play. They are not to go into the dugouts.
ยท After the breaks the umpire is to start the game with the whistle (when the clock is going). The ball is not deemed in play until the whistle is blown. Players do not need to be on the field but if they are they are to be at the appropriate end of the field.
ยท Once the siren goes at the end of any quarter or half then the ball is dead unless there is a short corner in progress (So if ball is in mid-air and siren blows then that ball is now a dead ball)
ยท For short corners, for Division 1 these are started by the umpire with a whistle. For all other divisions the umpire will give the all clear for the corner to begin as they first will ensure that the defending team is ready
